My path into psychotherapy hasn’t been a traditional one. Before becoming a Humanistic Psychotherapist, my background included sales, customer service, coaching and entrepreneurship. Those experiences taught me a great deal about people, relationships and communication, and continue to influence how I work both as a therapist and as Co-founder and CEO of Role Resolve.
Throughout my therapeutic career, I have worked with children, young people and adults experiencing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, domestic abuse, eating disorders, relationship difficulties, childhood trauma and neurodivergence. My approach is humanistic and neurodiversity-affirming, with a strong focus on understanding each person as an individual and creating a space where they can explore their experiences and develop a greater understanding of themselves.
Creativity is also a big part of who I am and how I work. As a creative writer and intervention designer, I’m particularly interested in finding different ways of engaging people when more traditional approaches may not work for them.
I co-create the design and development of Role Resolve’s educational interventions, including work with children and young people who experience challenges within mainstream education, those with EHCPs, and learners with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. My focus is on creating engaging, evidence-informed approaches that support individual goals, communication, relationships and social and emotional development.
I have also undertaken independent research exploring the therapeutic applications of tabletop role-playing games and their potential to support engagement, self-expression and personal development. I continue to bring together research, therapeutic practice and creativity to develop approaches that are inclusive, engaging and grounded in the needs of the people we work with.
At the heart of everything I do is a genuine curiosity about people; how we understand ourselves, how we connect with others, and what can become possible when we feel truly understood.
